October 2000 Picture of the Month - Sullivan's Monument

This is an early 1900s postcard that features a scene at Sullivan's Monument, a familiar location to Elmirans and site of many family reunions and picnics. SHS Class of 1958 hosted a picnic here on our graduation week-end in June of 1958. For many, it was the first of numerous get-togethers and celebrations with our Southside classmates and former teachers.
