This is an early 1900s postcard that features a familiar location to Elmirans and site where many Elmirans got there start as newborn babies. St. Joseph's hospital on the East Side of Elmira has seen many improvements over the years since this photo was taken. The hospital has a grand reputation in the medical community of the Southern Tier of Elmira and remains one of the cornerstone facilities in modern Elmira. Still on Madison Avenue - still bringing newborn Elmirans into the world.
