The wooden lock in Corning, NY

his is another photo courtesy of Mike Paul, who has sent us so many photos over the years. Taken around 1900, this photo shows the wooden lock in Corning that caused the water to raise and lower in the Chemung Canal so that the canal would be navigable at throughout the year, even when water levels were at their lowest.
