Hello from New Smyrna Beach, Florida. After college and the Navy, I joined IBM where I met my wife. We both recently retired from IBM and moved to a beach townhouse in Florida where we can be frequently found sitting under our umbrella in the sun staring wide-eyed at each other just to make sure that this is really happening to us. We just can't believe that we don't have to get up at 5:30AM everyday to ride the train for an hour to work in downtown Chicago (which is what we did for 30 years). My greatest accomplishment is our kids, Diane (38), Scott (36), and Brett (32). All are healthy and out on their own and we are grateful for our years as parents to these three wonderful children who have made us so proud. In September, 2000, I went back to work as a reporter for the local newspaper here in New Smyrna Beach. After designing websites for so many years, I answered an ad in the paper and have found that some of the skills I had developed as a webdesigner came in handy as a reporter/staff writer. I have since become a feature writer for several magazines and local publications here in New Smryna Beach. I have a regular column called Extra Helpings in LifeStyle Magazine, which is published in Daytona Beach. And I maintain a web site by the same name (www.ExtraHelpings.com) which you can peruse and see what I am up to lately, should you be so inclined.. Editor's Note: Bill's E-Mail address is: and he invites you to correspond with him at that address.
